Worth the Heat
Dana Schutz is hot, hot, hot, and the overflowing crowd at her exhibit of new paintings at Zach Feuer Gallery proves it. I find her work somewhat seductive. There's a little Francis Bacon vibe going on here mixed with David Hockney. Not all the paintings in this show work, however. In a few, holes are cut into the canvas, revealing blackness. Seemed kind of amateurish. Overall, an "event" exhibit that's worth checking out. (Images via Zach Feuer gallery)
