Turn the Page

By the time you read this, "The Notorious Bettie Page" will probably be out of the theaters. And if you do miss it, don't worry. It's not a bad film; it's just thin and forgettable. It's two-dimensional, just like Bettie's pinups. One reason to see it, however, is the cinematography, which recreates the image quality of film from the 1950s: both color (techicolor saturation) and black and white (rich velvety blacks). Oh, and another reason to see the film is if you want to see Gretchen Mol as a leafless Page.
